The Venetian blinds, which are totally exposed to inclement weather conditions, are manufactured in order prevent water infiltration. Even in case some water gets in, the internal frame of the blind is manufactured in order to let it out by dripping, thus avoiding water stagnancy. The wooden covering of the slats is obtained with a sophisticated technique; all joints are on the inferior backside of the covering, while they are absent from the superior one. Consequently there is no danger of water infiltration and stagnation inside the slat which, in the long run, may cause the wood to get rotten.

The coexistence of steel and wood is one the problems which Blindart has brilliantly solved. This is a key problem common to all those products in which metal is covered by wood, since these two elements have a different reaction to the thermal changes; metal shrinks at low temperatures while it expands at high temperatures. Vice versa for the wood, which, in summer, shrinks for drought and in winter expands for dampness. It is necessary, while assembling, that the surface of the two elements must adhere completely so to avoid water infiltration between the steel and the wood. Therefore the assembling system of the two elements must be carried out with sophisticated techniques, avoiding every use of screws and silicon. Adhesive materials must be strong and elastic in order to follow the natural movements of the two materials due to thermal excursions, especially those between the night and the day (typical of the continental climatic regions). Blindart assembling technique has been successfully applied for ten years and it guarantees the limitless stability of the wooden covering.

Thanks to the great results achieved by chemical fillers and polishes, Blindart products need maintenance once every 8/10 years, a frequency which has nothing to share with the necessity of annual maintenance, typical of fifteen or twenty years ago.
